The mobile game market is being flooded with Clash of Clans clones recently if you haven’t noticed and a lot of people think that is a bad thing. However, it is not necessarily a bad thing. Clash of Clans popularized a certain genre but by no means does it hold a trademark on the idea (watch that happen now though…). Moreover, a lot of these “clones” are good games in themselves if not better and thematically you may not want to play a cutesy barbaric theme but something more gritty. Falling Skies: Planetary War is one of these clones that is out now and it deserves your attention.
Inspired by the TNT television series Falling Skies, Falling Skies: Planetary War is a real time base builder game a la Clash of Clans that lets you play either as the humans or the alien aggressors. Typical gameplay revolves around you building up your base, training your army and battling against thousands of real life players. You can build farms, barracks and more as well as harvest food, metal and ore resources. Admittedly, Falling Skies: Planetary War is similar to Clash of Clans and the ilk but it is under a well known IP that has a lot of die hard fans. Check it out if you’re interested!
