Sequel to the Popular Auto Running Platformer Wind-up Knight Lands on Android

Wind-up Knight, the gorgeous auto running platformer that hooked over 10 million people around the world has just got a sequel. Wind-up Knight 2 comes with fantastic 3D graphics, a checkpoint system, a new currency in the form of tickets, side quests, and a tournament mode to keep you wound up for hours.

While you will still be playing the cute little hero-knight blocking, slashing, and jumping around a gorgeous world, there are plenty of exciting new mechanics to relish. The newly introduced checkpoint system will let you resume play from a specific point when you die, making the gameplay a lot less frustrating. Although you can complete a level in one full shot, the checkpoints come in handy if you’re having a bad day.

A new currency “tickets” also comes into effect in the sequel. Although coins are the primary currency you use to buy equipment and powerups, tickets will come in handy when you want to play in the Tournament mode. IAPs do have a role in the game (you’ll have to cough up $4.99 to unlock all levels), but developers Robot Invader have balanced the game mechanics so you won’t have to pay (for powerups) to progress through the game.

The developers have also tried to improve replay value by adding side quests. Playing a level again to pick up all the hidden diamonds or without killing anything along the way certainly adds a fun and interesting twist to the original. For players who love a social challenge, Google Play Games Services integration lets you enjoy a fresh new level everyday in the Tournament mode and challenge your friends for leaderboard glory.

Wind-up Knight 2 looks in every way better than its predecessor and is a game that should definitely go into your Android collection. However, for the moment, its available only in select countries. If you happen to be in one of them, be sure to check it out.
