Square Enix has been on a roll lately and has been porting over, one by one, all the early Final Fantasy games to Android devices. So far they have done the original, Final Fantasy III, IV, V and more. Now to add to the growing list is Final Fantasy IV: After Years the sequel to Final Fantasy IV. If you don’t know, Final Fantasy IV: After Years takes place twenty years after the events in Final Fantasy IV and feature both familiar characters and new ones.
Most of Final Fantasy IV: After Years is broken down into ten playable “tales”. The first is called Ceodore’s Tale and after completing it you are able to unlock six new characters. From there you can play Kain’s Tale, The Lunarian’s Tale, The Crystals tale and more. These can be played in any order and were all included in the original After Years. Final Fantasy IV: After Years has all the features you’d expect from the Final Fantasy series and the original After Years game. The iconic active time battle system is, of course, back in action along with lunar phases which influence some character’s attacks and abilities. There are band abilities which you can unlock through leveling up your party or in-game events which give awesome effects. The big change for the Android (and iOS) port of Final Fantasy IV: After Years is it is a full 3D remake of the original. So if you loved the original try out the new and improved Final Fantasy IV: After Years for $15.99 on Google Play.
