Rube Goldberg, the genius American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer and inventor is probably best known for his cartoons showing off complicated looking contraptions that performed simple tasks in convoluted ways. He has also been the inspiration for board games and video games and now with Unity’s release of the Rube Goldberg Game, even mobile games.
The Rube Goldberg Game is puzzle solving at its best. Players are given a string of apparently unconnected items and must piece it together to enable a machine to work. While you don’t have to use all items in the inventory to get the machine started, you score extra points when you use as many as you can.
On successful completion of the puzzle, you earn three stars and get to see the original illustration of the machine the great man drew in his cartoons. The developers have tried to stick to the core vision of the Goldberg comic strip and appeared to have done an astoundingly good job of it.
If you are a fan of puzzle games with an inventive twist, grab the Rube Goldberg Game from the Play Store for $1.99.
