Battle puzzlers are becoming the new big genre this year I have started to realize. With games like the Marvel Puzzle Quest, Doctor Who Legacy and more, the floodgates have opened. New to the scene is Mighty Bots, a robotic take on the genre, by East Side Games Studio. Gameplay revolves around you building your own robot and then battling others by way of a line drawing mechanic like Jelly Splash.
This may sound fairly typical but Mighty Bots actually seems rather fun and it isn’t just another IP crossover. The customization and upgrade options for your bot are especially interesting as you’ll have to cater them to the enemies you’ll face. Of course the core aspect is the match-3 Bejeweled like gameplay which is fairly standard but extremely fun for those people who enjoy it (like myself). Mighty Bots also features a storyline to keep you entertained along with epic boss battles and many a powerup. East Side Games Studio is a small studio but has already put out some fairly good games and Might Bots seems to be another one they can add to their repertoire.
